AWANA program is used for children’s church during the 10am worship time. AWANA stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed.” The program aims at developing spiritually strong children and youth who faithfully follow Jesus Christ. Each week, children will explore the biographies of people of the Bible from a new portion of Scripture, memorize Bible verses, and complete handbook activities. Our goal is to take children on a journey through the entire Bible!

May Sisterhood

In our Men’s Meeting, brothers celebrate their joy, share their burdens, and encourage each other to stay close to God. April’s men’s meeting will be on May 27th during English-speaking Sunday School.

Mother’s Day Celebration

Come and celebrate Mother’s Day with us on May 13th. Our instrumental team and our dancexercise group will give special presentation after the Sunday service. Each mother will receive a special origami floral arrangement. We will have special dumplings for lunch on that day.

ICCCT to Celebrate 10th Church Anniversary

About the church

In 2005, we purchased a building of over 10,000 sq ft in the scenic Ruston neighborhood steps away from the Point Defiance Park. Right after the purchase, we started a series of remodeling projects. While the commercial contractors took care of the major tasks such as the fire sprinkler system and the electrical overhaul, church members painted the interior and the exterior of the building. New doors and windows were installed. A new playground was built within the screened fence at the back. A mirrored activity room was put in the sunlight basement. All the restrooms received refreshing facelifts. The church building now houses three other organizations: the Ruston Christian Childcare and Preschool, the only licensed daycare providing Chinese language enrichment in Pierce County; the Evergreen Chinese Academy, a fully accredited Chinese language school for adults and children; and the Chinese Community Center, a 501(c)3 nonprofit service group. In February 2010, we acquired the adjacent property. With the newly planted cherry trees and flower baskets, our church continues to strengthen the community by our physical presence and our faithful work.

Community Involvement

Following the Lord’s teaching in Matthew 5:14-16, the International Chinese Christian Church actively participates in our community to be a light that shines before others, that they may see our good deeds and glorify our Father in heaven. We participate in the annual Asia Pacific Cultural Center’s new year event at the Tacoma Dome, we collect food items twice a year for the local food bank, we work with the San Francisco Chinese Christian Herald Cancer Care to take care of local cancer patients, we walk to raise funds for the MultiCare Health System to build healthy children and families in our community, we give talks at local nursing homes, public libraries, and schools about the Chinese language and culture, and we donate our hand-knit items to the fundraising event of the Women Get It program at MultiCare – provides free mammograms and diagnostics for those unable to pay for them.
